1996: Founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

1997: Ran for the seat of the National Assembly of Pakistan in the Pakistani general.  Elections from two constituencies - NA-53, Mianwali and NA-94, Lahore and lost both.

1999: Supported the military coup of General Pervez Musharraf

2002: Elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from Mianwali in the Pakistani general election.

2007: Joins 85 other MPs on 2 October to resign from Parliament in protest of the 6 October presidential election.

2013: On 30 April, Pakistan Peoples Party (Punjab) president Manzoor Wattu offered Imran Khan the position of prime minister in a possible coalition government.  His party PTI emerged as the second largest party in the 2013 Pakistan general election and Imran Khan became his party's parliamentary leader.

2014: On 11 May, he alleged that the 2013 general elections were rigged in favor of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League.

2018: Contested the 2018 General Elections from NA-95 Mianwali and NA-53 Islamabad and won both.  He became the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan on 18 August.

2022: He was removed from the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan on 10 April after losing a no-confidence motion against him in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

• In 1994, he admitted to a county match in 1981, in seam-lifting Test matches, and once in a bottle top scratch.


• In 1996, Botham and Alan Lamb, two former England cricketers, sued him for allegedly calling him a "racist".


• In August 2017, Ayesha Gulalai (a Pakistani politician) made allegations of harassment against Khan;  Claiming that he was receiving objectionable messages since October 2013.  Imran Khan, however, denied the allegations, saying it was a conspiracy by the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) to defame him.


• On 21 October 2022, the Election Commission of Pakistan found him guilty of illegally selling gifts from foreign dignitaries and heads of state worth over 140 million Pakistani rupees ($635,000) to hold any public office for five years.  stopped living.

Imran grew up with his four sisters in Mianwali in north-western Punjab in Pakistan.

Growing up in prosperous conditions, Imran received a privileged education from Aitchison College in Lahore and the Royal Grammar School, Worcester, England.

It was at the Royal Grammar School in Worcester, England where he learned his cricket.

He announced his retirement from international cricket after the 1987 World Cup, before leading Pakistan to win the 1992 Cricket World Cup.  However, it was Pakistan's military dictator General Zia-ul-Haq who asked him to return to lead the team and the rest is history.

Although the Pakistani team struggled during the 1992 Cricket World Cup, he single-handedly helped the team win the tournament.

He was behind the foundation of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lahore and Namal College, Mianwali.  He dedicated this hospital to his mother Shaukat Khanum, who had died of cancer.

Imran Khan is famous for giving a chance to young talents to play for his country.  It was Imran who saw Waqar Younis playing home matches on television and introduced him to the Pakistan national team.

After her divorce from Reham Khan (Imran's second wife), she accused Imran of being bisexual, taking drugs and alcohol, and committing adultery.  She also mentioned in her autobiography that Imran had an affair with Saqlain Mushtaq (former Pakistani cricketer).

In 2004, he was robbed at gunpoint while driving through the outskirts of Islamabad.

In 2012, he was declared Asia's Person of the Year with 88% of the votes.

He was one of the few bowlers to dismiss Sunil Gavaskar on the first ball of a Test match.
